Hallo allemaal,

Vorige maand ontvingen jullie van mij een mailtje met daarin heel blij dat de bottelingsopdracht voor onze PC10 naar Schotland verstuurd is. En dat is ook zo. Deze keer heb ik goed nieuws en minder goed nieuws.

Het goede nieuws is dat de opdracht in goed orde ontvangen is bij Bruichladdich, en dat de opdracht in de wachtrij is geplaatst. We zijn de eerste privateers die aan de beurt zijn in de volgende batch (en nu komt het minder goede nieuws) eind maart 2015! Letterlijk:

Private bottling start dates have not been finalised for 2015 but we would hope to start at the end of March with completion taking up to 6 months.

Wat??? Nog 6 maanden erbij?? Dan is het sample niet meer hetzelfde als de inhoud van het vat! I'm not too happy with this! Daarop antwoordde Joanna van Bruichladdich:

Sorry you are not too happy with our schedule. I understand there is a long wait until you get your bottles. This is due to the large number of casks currently in the bottling line. Your whisky would be due to go into the bottles late March early April so shouldn’t have changed much since you received your sample and it will be a 10yo. The bottles then have to go through the process of casing, checking, admin, invoicing and co-ordinating shipment which can take up to 6 months altogether. There are over 200 casks in the line at any one time and each has to go through these many stages one by one.

Het gaat allemaal niet te snel daar, op Islay.

Enfin, ik houd jullie op de hoogte. Maar niet getreurd: in 2015 heb je een kerst PC10.
